If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don't go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/

They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/

Domains
Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy.

IPOWER http://www.anurl.com/?TXIBE

FREE AD-FREE HOSTING.

If you would like free ad-free hosting, try

Question about Yahoo Small Business web hosting? Domain name? Technical Support? Sample websites?
I'm starting to design a website with Yahoo's Small Business Web Hosting service, using their SiteBuilder tool. I've hit a little stump though, and need to ask some questions.
First of all, do you have a website that you have built through Yahoo that I could see?
Secondly, do you have the technical support # for them? I haven't set up my account yet, but they aren't getting my business if I don't have all of the bugs worked out yet.
Thirdly, if you know this, I've figured out how to have more than 5 tabs, but I can't figure out how to create more than 5 pages with them. Is there a way?
Thank you in advance! I do choose best answers.
CHANGE OF PLANS!!
I figured out how to add a new page. Now I just need website examples and a technical support phone number.
Thanks!

I would recommend www.hosttosucceed.com because they have 100% uptime, and usually reply to e-mail questions within a few hours. Check them out! Very reliable!

are these extras worth the money from a web host?
I dont know much about companies who host web sites but I have a feeling some of these extras being offered are of no use or aren't worth the money? I found these on a site called ipage.com but I don't think I will use their services as I have found better reviews for other sites. anyway thanks in advance.

I would use www.NeedAWebDomain.com for this. Get a windows hosting account not linux. With window you can run the asp.net framework and integrate ajax and mysql.

Their hosting is top notch. Their a godaddy affiliate but they actually care about their customers. Thats why I use them and their hosting has never been down for me. I just scaled up to a deluxe package cause of traffic but start with the basic plan.

Problems hosting with wifi cable modem/hub?
I have a computer setup with xampp, works fine when no other users are connected to the hub, problem is when they hook into it either via wifi connection or direct line connection the server no longer works with http and php, ftp seems to work fine, also ive noticed that no one can see any games that i host in anything like halo, diablo 2 etc while there is other people on the hub. The hub has the proper ports forwarded on the nat, server has the correct ports open. How can i fix this and prevent the server from timing out, its like the incoming web connections to the server hit the box and the box doesnt know what to do with it, ive been all over the net and found very little about this make and model of modem, it comes from Rogers Cable, its active, works fine, and its that SMC8014W-G model, blue got 4 ports and usb, and 2 wifi antennas on it, works off the cable. It doesnt have a virtual host section on the box. Im the person running it so theres no issues with me setting anything on it.
Basically why is it not allowing a server to run right when another user connects to the hub? BTW ive done a port test, when the computers alone, the ports work fine, second computer connects to the hub, the ports are closed or time out. Server machine is XP Pro SP 2 Essentials as well, doubt that is the issue because it acts like its a hub issue.
