Many of us have experienced the situation in which we lose everything from our PC, iPad or iPhone and so on by mistake or because of a malfunction of the system. It’s very unfortunate, especially if you have bought songs and movies from iTunes. And unless it’s an iBook or an application, Apple doesn’t allow us to download new copies. That’s why it is always recommended to make as many backups as you can. If you have an iPad, Apple offers you an easy way to back up your files on DVD or CD.

First, you enter iTunes, choose File-Library-Back up Disc. In the next box that will appear, you can choose to what to backup. You can backup everything or just some files from iTunes or iBooks. If it is the first time that you perform this operation, you can turn on a check box so that for the future use, you can access the files that you have recently added since the last backup.

When speaking about the backup disk, the size can vary. For a few files you can choose a CD (which has 700 Mb) or, if you want to add a large content, you can use a DVD (which has at least 4.7 Gb). iTunes can become troublesome if you intend to feed it with another disk once the current is filled.

For restoring your files, just open iTunes and put one of those disks into it. Don’t think that the restoring process is something exciting. But you’ll realize its importance after by a mistake or not, you’ll loose your library and with one of the backup disks you can save the day.

In conclusion, you must always have in sight the backup process. You never know when you can loose your files. And it’s very painful, especially when you’ve paid for a lot of music or videos from iTunes store. And what is more important is that Apple offers you a very easy way to back up your files.
